Not for Nothin’

Students chose a not-for-profit organisation to research and rebrand as part of the final-year unit ‘Not for Nothin’. My chosen organisation was Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV), the leading organisation advocating for and supporting women with disabilities across the state.

Led by women with disabilities for women with disabilities, WDV works to address systemic disadvantages by promoting inclusion, influencing policy, and connecting individuals with essential resources and services. Through advocacy, research, and community engagement, WDV empowers women with disabilities and drives meaningful change toward a more equitable and inclusive society.

To support WDV in achieving its goals, a refreshed brand identity and a mobile app concept were developed to enhance visibility, engagement, and community connection. The new brand identity strengthens WDV’s presence and impact, while WDV Mobile centralises key resources and documentation in a user-friendly format for easier access. The app also includes a messaging feature that fosters connection and support among members, extending the sense of community beyond scheduled events and providing continuous support for women living with disabilities.

Comprehensive brand guidelines were developed to ensure unified communications for the WDV team. The brand language embraces a vibrant, accessible colour palette that reflects inclusivity, empowerment, and warmth. Designed to foster connection and community, the brand’s friendly and inviting aesthetic ensures clarity, accessibility, and a strong visual identity that resonates with women with disabilities.
